Comedy Festival returns to the Clarence
Posted: 6th January 2025The Black Mountains Comedy Festival is back for its fourth year, ready to bring more laughs, unforgettable performances and community spirit to the heart of Wales. Taking place from Thursday, 30 January to Saturday, 1 February, the festival promises a vibrant mix of emerging talent and seasoned comedians, all against the stunning backdrop of the Black Mountains.
This year’s festival offers an eclectic lineup of shows, ranging from solo performances and comedy showcases to themed acts that explore everything from sharp satire to absurdist humour. For the first time, the festival will host a Noson Comedi Cymraeg, headlined by Stephen Evans, celebrating Welsh-language comedy and culture.
Highlights of the weekend include headline performances by the brilliant Ignacio Lopez and the ever-popular Angela Barnes, with the show hosted by festival favourite Ross Smith. Building on a tradition of attracting top-tier talent, the festival continues to establish itself as a rising star on the UK comedy scene. Previous lineups have featured household names such as Rich Hall, Bridget Christie, Gary Delaney, and Mark Watson.
Adding a heartwarming touch, this year’s festival includes a family-friendly show created in collaboration with the Kitsch n Sync Collective. This unique performance will tour local care homes, spreading joy to residents, before concluding with a matinee showing on Saturday, 1 February.
With its intimate atmosphere and strong focus on community, the Black Mountains Comedy Festival is more than just a weekend of laughs – it’s a celebration of creativity, connection and the power of shared experiences.
