Crickhowell Walking Festival
Posted: 23rd January 2022The Clarence Hall is home to a wide range of organisations that utilise its facilities. In this feature, we look at the annual Crickhowell Walking Festival.
The Beacons and Black Mountains are recognised as a spectacular area of wild moorland, tumbling waterfalls and sweeping mountain slopes, providing magical walking for all ages and abilities. In March each year, Crickhowell Walking Festival celebrates this unique landscape by organising over 80 walks over 8 days, all led by local experienced guides. There is something for every level of walker, whether you are happy trekking all day across the tops of the Black Mountains and Brecon Beacons or would rather keep to paths and the lower slopes. There is also an exciting programme of evening events – talk, music and much more – all raising funds for the local Mountain Rescue, Longtown, Brecon and Central Beacons teams.
This year’s event is proving very popular and there has been a tremendous response to date. At the time of writing this article, 73% of walk spaces have been booked and over 30 walks are fully booked.
