Spotlight on Dance Beats
Posted: 1st September 2025Each term, the Clarence Hall comes alive as students from Dance Beats share their creativity, enthusiasm and love of dance in weekly classes. Led by Emma Evans, the driving force behind the group, Dance Beats offers children and young people the chance to grow in confidence, make friends and discover the joy of performing.
Classes are open to ages 4 to 17 and cover a wide range of styles, from contemporary and street dance to musical theatre. Alongside learning technique, students are encouraged to experiment, work together and develop choreography of their own. The atmosphere is fun and supportive, giving everyone the chance to shine.
At the end of each term, students present a showcase for family and friends, putting their new skills into practice on stage. Recent shows have included imaginative themes such as The Golden Ticket (Charlie & the Chocolate Factory), Second Star to the Right (Peter Pan) and Movie Magic, each one a celebration of the talent and hard work of the dancers. The young performers can also be found stealing the limelight at the annual Crickhowell Pantomime, where their stage presence and flair add sparkle to the community production.
Dance Beats runs during school term time, out of school hours, with each term lasting around 12 weeks. The Autumn term starts on Tuesday, 2 September – visit https://www.facebook.com/dancebeats12 for more info.
