Working in partnership for the community
Posted: 12th June 2022The latest initiative in the Crickhowell Celebrates series of events marking the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was a testament to how local volunteer organisations can work in partnership for the benefit of the community.
On this occasion, it was a Celebration Tea held on 10 June at the Clarence Hall for seniors, drawn mainly from local care homes and assisted living facilities.
Volunteers from the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell Town Council, Crickhowell Rotary Club and other friends combined efforts to put on an excellent afternoon with cream teas served on traditional tea services and entertainment comprising a film on the Queen’s reign, finishing with a rousing singalong.
Commenting on the successful event, Clarence Hall Event Director, Dian Winter said: “We’re all aware of the significant impact the pandemic has had on seniors in our local community. It was tremendous to see the Hall filled with fun and laughter once again. I am so grateful to everyone who gave unstintingly of their time!”
