Spring at the Clarence
Posted: 7th March 2026As the days grow longer and Spring arrives in the Usk Valley, the Clarence Hall is preparing for another vibrant season of events. The programme once again brings together a varied mix of talks, music and community gatherings.
March begins with Everest – It’s a Long Way Back Down, part of the Crickhowell Walking Festival, where Tim Kington shares stories and images from the world’s highest mountain. Later in the month, local band Cardinal Sin take to the stage for their first headline performance.
April brings an eclectic mix of entertainment. British Kingdom Pro Wrestling returns with its popular family-friendly afternoon show, followed by Seven Wonders – The Spirit of Fleetwood Mac. Crickhowell Rotary’s Concert for Crick offers a fundraising evening of live music, while the Vintage & Makers Market, organised by Mischievous Cow Events, once again fills the Hall with stalls showcasing crafts, vintage finds and handmade goods.
Music continues into May as the Hall hosts two concerts during the Crickhowell Music Festival, organised by Crickhowell Choral Society, including the Kosmos Ensemble and a special recital celebrating ten years of the Choral Scholars scheme. The month also features An Evening with Charlie Thould and guests, a fundraising concert supporting the young musical theatre performer’s training, along with an Elvis tribute night in aid of Living with Dementia Society.
Art returns to the Hall during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend, when Torfaen Arts present their exhibition as part of the Crickhowell Open Studios weekend.
Alongside these events, the Hall remains busy with its regular users. Dance Beats lessons and Cantorion Phoenix rehearsals take place here, alongside meetings of the U3A and Crickhowell Garden Society, Bingo nights and Rug Sales. Christ Church Crickhowell host their Meal with a Message gatherings, while Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau run a wide programme of activities including Chess Club, Knit & Natter, Time to Reminisce, Line Dancing, The Painting Room, Neck & Shoulder Massage, Indoor Bowls and their Luncheon Club.
There’s something for everyone this Spring at the Clarence Hall — we look forward to welcoming you through the door!
