Laughter takes centre stage!

The Clarence Hall was once again filled with laughter last night as Theatre Adhoc made a triumphant return with Vice Versa – a gloriously madcap comedy directed by Andrew Pippen. Loosely based on Miles Gloriosus by the Roman playwright Plautus, this fast-paced farce delivered an evening of entertainment, delighting the audience from start to finish.

The play followed the downfall of the bombastic and self-absorbed General Braggadocio, whose overblown ego is brought crashing down through a chain of events involving a scheming concubine, a quick-witted servant, an amorous magistrate, a suspicious Greek visitor and a particularly mischievous monkey.

Full of witty dialogue and outrageous characters, Vice Versa showcased the creativity and energy that have made Theatre Adhoc such a popular local theatre group.  The cast delivered confident and charismatic performances, with impeccable comic timing and a strong sense of ensemble.

This latest production once again demonstrated the calibre of talent we’ve come to expect from Theatre Adhoc.  We’re already looking forward to welcoming them back to the Clarence Hall for their next performance!
