A Magical Winter Wonderland

Posted: 9th December 2025

The Clarence Hall was alive with colour and excitement this weekend as more than 100 young pianists took part in A Musical Piano Journey into Winter Wonderland.  With two performances – a matinée and an evening concert – families and friends gathered to enjoy an immersive story told through festive favourites and well-known melodies.

This beautifully narrated event followed a winter journey brought to life through piano arrangements performed by musicians aged 5–17. Alongside traditional seasonal pieces, the programme featured music from much-loved Christmas films including Home Alone, The Polar Express and The Snowman.

The shows were created and directed by local music teachers Hannah Merrett and Nichola McCloy, whose students have been practising with extraordinary commitment throughout the autumn term.

It was a day filled with creativity and joyful energy, and the Hall was proud to host such a celebration of achievement.

Huge congratulations to everyone who took part and our sincere thanks to all who helped make the event such a memorable success.
