A showcase of talent
Posted: 29th June 2025Music and celebration filled the Clarence Hall on Saturday evening as supporters came together for a special fundraising concert in honour of local performer Charlie Thould. The event, titled A Musical Journey, drew an enthusiastic crowd for a night of musical theatre favourites, celebrating Charlie’s achievements.
The concert raised funds to help Charlie begin his sixth form studies at the prestigious Emil Dale Academy – a leading institution for musical theatre training. In his programme message, Charlie reflected on his journey so far, sharing his love of performing and expressing gratitude to his family, teachers and the local community for their unwavering support.
The evening showcased numbers from much-loved stage musicals such as Hairspray, The Sound of Music, Grease, and Les Misérables. Joined by fellow performers from LRS Academy and other guests, Charlie led a vibrant and heartfelt series of performances that highlighted both his talent and the collaborative spirit of the event.
What truly marked the evening was the overwhelming sense of community and support. Throughout the concert, Charlie’s appreciation for those who have helped him on his journey was palpable.
