A Star Performance!Posted: 24th August 2022
The Clarence Hall was delighted to host Abergavenny Star Players from 18-20 August as they returned to the stage with their performance of the cult musical, ‘RENT’, raising much needed funds for St David’s Hospice.
Based on Puccini’s beloved opera La Bohème, the show follows the ups and downs of a year in the life of a group of impoverished, artistic friends living in Manhattan’s East Village, as they grapple with addiction, eviction, sexual identity, parents and the yearning to leave a meaningful legacy. The musical resonates with anyone who’s struggled with life, love and their discontents.
Abergavenny Star Players debuted in 2017 with their production of ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, followed in 2018 by their award-winning production of the hit musical ‘Made in Dagenham’.
“RENT” didn’t disappoint! A delighted audience was treated to a fantastic performance from start to finish, featuring an array of outstanding local talent. Well done to everyone involved.
