A wonderful performance from EOS Wind Quintet

The Clarence Hall’s Lunch-time Recital Programme is a series of events designed to encourage live music performances in Crickhowell, with an emphasis on accessibility and easy listening.

The series is sponsored by the Clarence Hall for the community.  Admission is free but there is a collection for the Clarence Hall Refurbishment Appeal for those who wish to donate.

This weekend, the EOS Wind Quintet took centre stage.  The Quintet is an ensemble of flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon and horn, who play mainly light classical music and popular musical selections.  The talented players are drawn from leading amateur orchestras across South Wales and the South West of England.

The Quintet were excellent, displaying their array of skills with a very wide repertoire which took us on a musical journey from Spain to the USA via Cuba and South America.  And to cap it all, we were treated to a finale of arrangements of the theme from Beethoven’s 9th and Mozart’s Rondo alla Turca.

We are so grateful to everyone who played with such talent and enthusiasm and for our very appreciative audience who popped in to enjoy the performance.  Our next Lunchtime Recital will be in March – watch this space!
