An Evening to Remember

Posted: 15th June 2025

Saturday’s fundraising concert at the Clarence Hall, featuring Beaufort Male Voice Choir and Ebbw Valley Brass Band, was a triumph of music, community and purpose.  Organised by Living with Dementia, this uplifting evening delivered far more than entertainment – it offered a moment of shared joy in support of a deeply meaningful cause.

From the first note to the last, the audience was treated to an evening of vibrant, contrasting sounds. The programme ranged from well-loved melodies to more challenging new works, showcasing the versatility and musical depth of both choir and band. The result was a performance that was both accessible and artistically ambitious.

The soloists were world class – commanding the stage with poise and emotion and adding an extra layer of brilliance to the evening’s music.

Filming by Yeti Television for a forthcoming Sky Arts documentary brought an added sense of occasion. The presence of cameras only heightened the atmosphere, with everyone aware they were witnessing something special – a celebration of music that will echo far beyond the walls of the Clarence Hall.

Huge thanks are due to Living with Dementia’s Suzan and Mike Alderton for bringing this unforgettable evening to life.  If you were there, you’ll know how powerful it was.  If not – keep an eye out for the documentary. This was music with heart, and a night to be proud of!
