Beaufort Male Choir in Concert

Posted: 17th August 2026

Welsh male voice choirs are enjoying renewed attention following the launch of Sky Arts’ Voices of the Valleys, a three-part series celebrating one of Wales’ richest musical traditions. Among the choirs featured is Beaufort Male Choir, which returns to the Clarence Hall on Saturday, 5 September, for an evening of music in aid of Parkinson’s Disease and Prostate Cancer charities.

Founded more than 150 years ago, Beaufort Male Choir is one of Wales’ oldest and most respected choirs. From its home in the South Wales Valleys, it has built a reputation for rich harmonies, musical excellence and a varied repertoire that ranges from traditional Welsh favourites to modern classics. Today, the choir continues to perform across Wales and beyond, proudly keeping alive a tradition that remains at the heart of Welsh cultural life.

The concert is presented by the Crickhowell & District Fundraising Group, which has organised charity concerts and fundraising events in the area for many years. Through the support of local audiences, performers and volunteers, the group has raised thousands of pounds for hospitals and healthcare charities across the region. This year’s concert continues that tradition, with proceeds supporting Parkinson’s Disease and Prostate Cancer charities chosen by the group.

Joining Beaufort Male Choir will be guest soloist Angela Lloyd-Davies, together with performances from the choir’s Assistant Musical Director Conor O’Leary and Callum Rees, promising a varied programme showcasing both the choir and its talented soloists.

Whether you’re a long-time admirer of Welsh male voice choirs, have recently discovered Beaufort through Voices of the Valleys or simply enjoy an evening of outstanding live music, this promises to be another memorable concert at the Clarence Hall while supporting two very worthwhile causes.
