Cantorion Phoenix – A Choir for Everyone
Posted: 5th January 2025Founded in 2011, Cantorion Phoenix is a welcoming, mixed choir that brings together people from all backgrounds and singing abilities. Under the inspiring leadership of Musical Director Dian Winter, the choir has grown from a small group of members to a thriving and well-loved choir, performing regularly in Crickhowell, Govilon and the surrounding areas.
At the heart of Cantorion Phoenix is a strong sense of community. The choir’s mission is to enable those who love singing to achieve a high standard of musicianship in an inclusive and supportive environment. There are no auditions and members are not required to read music. The choir is proud to accommodate individuals with diverse needs. For many members, the weekly rehearsals are a highlight, blending music and friendship.
Beyond its rehearsals, Cantorion Phoenix is committed to giving back to the community. It performs a number of concerts each year, raising funds for local causes such as Cancer Research, SSAFA, Christ Church Govilon and the Clarence Hall!
New members are always welcome. If you enjoy singing uplifting musical arrangements in a friendly and fun atmosphere, pop in to the Clarence Hall on Tuesday evenings during term time, from 7:30 to 9:00 pm. There’s no obligation to join!
