Clarence Hall launches Refurbishment Appeal

Posted: 22nd October 2021

The Trustees of the Clarence Hall are responding to the 2020 Community Survey by launching an appeal to refurbish this well-used community venue.

Phase 1 of the redevelopment will include:  a new and upgraded kitchen; new toilet facilities; a new disability access toilet incorporating a baby changing area; a small bar; and an accessible entrance into the hall with ramped access from the A40 and car park.

An essential part of this project is to make the building more accessible for people with disabilities, for older people and for parents using buggies and pushchairs. We are aware that the current lack of access and outdated facilities are impacting on the ability of a wide number of beneficiaries to attend and benefit from this community venue.

Although we have been awarded £100,000 from The National Lottery Community Fund towards the refurbishment, we now need community support to secure this award by raising the remaining £30,000 needed to achieve our goals. We hope that you will be able to help us!

You can contribute to the project by:

– Donating online at justgiving.com/campaign/clarencehall

– Sending a cheque and completing the attached Gift Aid form

Any support you can provide would be very much appreciated. Details of all donors will be celebrated on the Supporters Page of this website as part of the Clarence Hall Community.  Donations of £100+ will be treated as Friends, £500+ as Patrons and £1000+ as Benefactors.  If you wish to remain anonymous, please let us know and we will, of course, respect your wishes.

Our Trustees are also working on a number of exciting fundraising events to support our plans.  Details are available on the What’s On section of this website and in our regular newsletter which also provides information on how our plans are progressing.  Sign up below!
