Community celebration
Posted: 10th May 2025Volunteers at the Clarence Hall were delighted to host a special Afternoon Tea on Friday, 9 May to mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Working in partnership with Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau, the event brought together members of the local community to share tea, cake and conversation in a fitting tribute to this historic occasion.
The afternoon began with a warm and thoughtful introduction from Crickhowell Town Councillor Ann Jeremiah, setting just the right tone for the event. Afternoon tea was served on traditional china, adding a nostalgic touch, while musical entertainment was provided by local community choir, Cantorion Phoenix, conducted by Dian Winter, accompanied by Ian Kimber and introduced by Jeff Fisher. It was a true community celebration, made possible by the efforts of many.
