Exciting times ahead for the Clarence Hall!
Posted: 18th November 2022The Trustees of the Clarence Hall are delighted to announce that thanks to the Welsh Government, the National Lottery Community Fund and our very many local supporters, funding is now in place to enter into a building contract for phase 1 of the Hall’s refurbishment.
This will comprise: a new and upgraded kitchen; new toilet facilities; new disability access toilet including a baby change area; a small bar; and a new accessible entrance into the hall with access from the A40 and car park.
It is expected that the building programme to construct the new entrance/multi-function room will commence in late November, although we are not anticipating any disruption for users until well into 2023 when works to the existing building will be undertaken. We will, of course, be in touch with the tenants of Clarence Hall House and all our user groups to explain how the schedule of works will be undertaken in a phased approach and any impact this may have on their activities.
In order to ensure that the fit out of the refurbished Hall maximises the facilities available for the community, we will be continuing to fundraise throughout the building phase.
We are very grateful to the Welsh Government, the National Lottery Community Fund and, indeed, to everyone who has supported our campaign to date. We look forward to delivering a venue that can host a full range of inclusive activities for individuals and groups of all ages.
