Festive Fun at the Clarence Hall!

Posted: 20th December 2022

The run up to Christmas has been full of festive fun at Crickhowell’s Clarence Hall.

The season kicked off with the excellent Christmas Fair as part of Crickhowell’s late night opening, organised by CRiC, followed by a successful Vintage, Antique & Makers Market, organised by Mischievous Cow Events.  Musical events included Carols, Hymns & Pimm’s with The Bryn Singers and Cantorion Phoenix, ably supported by Crickhowell Community Band; a Christmas Musical Extravaganza with Abergavenny Borough Band and Brynmawr Intergenerational Connect Choir; and Cantorion Phoenix’s Christmas Party, with tasty fish and chips supplied by the Coach & Horses in Llangynidr!

The talented Dance Beats put on a superb end of term performance for family and friends and Crickhowell Evangelical Church arranged various Christmas services, including a Ukrainian Carol Service, a Welsh Learner’s Carol Service and a Community Carol Service.  We mustn’t forget our other regular Clarence Hall users, Crickhowell Choral Society, who were busy rehearsing for the annual Nine Lessons and Carols service at St. Catwg’s and Crickhowell’s Volunteer Bureau and Rotary Club who used our back room to pack their many Christmas hampers.

Various musical groups have also appeared at local hostelries (including The Bear and Treebeards) where they’ve led the carol singing and raised money for our Refurbishment Fund. We’re very grateful to you all!

It’s been a fabulous Christmas season and once again, we’re delighted to have been at the heart of the Crickhowell Community.
