Festive fun raises over £4,000 for Refurbishment Fund
Posted: 21st December 2021The Trustees of the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell, are delighted that their festive fundraising efforts have resulted in over £4,000 being raised for the Hall’s Refurbishment Fund.
The highlight was the sell out ‘Elvis is Back’ concert, with local legend, Keith Davies BCAv and his Memphis Mafia delivering an outstanding performance.
Other events included a cake and jewellery stall at Crickhowell’s Christmas Fair, a shared evening of Christmas music with Community Choir Cantorion Phoenix, Rusty Recorders and Crickhowell Community Band, a stunning end of term performance from Dance Beats, a trial bingo evening with caller Mike Davies taking to the floor, all rounded off with an evening of Festive Fun at The Bear Hotel courtesy of Crickhowell Community Band.
The Hall’s mascot, Clarence the Lion made sure he got in on the act, joining forces with the Fire Station’s Fireman Sam to raise awareness of our fundraising efforts and generally trying to upstage Elvis!
Despite this fantastic result, we still needs to raise funds to close the £20,000 funding shortfall and secure our award from the National Lottery.
We hope that the community will continue to support us in 2022 – events in planning include a Hymns and Pimm’s evening, monthly Bingo and various concerts, including a performance by The Band of the Prince of Wales and an exciting return by Elvis during the year! More information is available on this website and via our monthly newsletter.
