Join Rareseed Theatre at the Clarence Hall at 7.30pm on Friday, 16 and Saturday, 17 January for their production of In the Bleak Midwinter by the well-known local playwright, Charles Way.
Set in the Welsh Border country, this lively and engaging play follows shepherd Zac and his pragmatic wife Miriam as they journey to Bethlehem for the poll tax. Along the way they encounter sheep-stealer Mak, his quick-witted partner Gill and, ultimately, a carpenter, his wife and their newborn child. Blending poetic writing with touches of humour, original live music and echoes of the medieval mystery plays, In the Bleak Midwinter offers a fresh and human perspective on an ancient story.
