Inspiring Young Readers at Clarence Hall
Posted: 8th February 2025The Clarence Hall was buzzing with excitement earlier this week as over 250 children from Crickhowell Primary, Crickhowell High School, Llangattock Primary, Llangynidr Primary and Longtown Primary came together for a special multi-school book event organised by local bookshop, Book-ish – the first of its kind since 2018!
The morning was filled with adventure as the children explored the world of beetles, ancient Egypt and storytelling with bestselling author MG Leonard, thanks to the support of Macmillan Publishing.
With a worrying decline in children reading for pleasure over the past decade, events like this are more important than ever. Happily, we saw plenty of eager young readers leave the Clarence Hall excited to dive into their new books – a promising sign for the future of reading.
