Music & Community at Clarence Hall
Posted: 10th November 2024Last night, the Clarence Hall came alive with the powerful and emotive sounds of songwriter Tanya Walker.
Known for her heartfelt lyrics and soul-stirring melodies, Tanya captivated the audience from the first note, taking us on a journey through the peaks and valleys of life with her signature blend of piano-driven folk and pop.
The concert, supported by Black Mountains Festivals, showcased why Tanya, a Brecon-based musician and the 2023 winner of the Global Songwriting Competition “Talent Is Timeless”, has earned such acclaim. Her performance of “Good Days, Bad Days” – the winning single she recorded at Abbey Road Studios – was a standout moment, offering an intimate look at themes of resilience, love, and loss.
Adding to the ambience of the evening, Tanya was joined by the Alive & Kickin’ Community Choir from Brecon, whom she directs, as well as other guest performers. Together, they created a rich tapestry of sound, amplifying the collaborative spirit that was felt throughout the hall. The choir’s harmonies blended beautifully with Tanya’s voice, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity.
With every song, Tanya proved why she’s not only a talented solo artist but also a skilled collaborator, creating an experience that left a lasting impression. Last night’s concert was a true celebration of music and community and those who attended were treated to a moving and inspiring night in the heart of the Black Mountains.
