The Long Way Home

Join us on Friday, 4 and Saturday, 5 October, when Rareseed Productions present The Long Way Home, an engaging theatre production featuring a combination of drama and live music.

Directed by the talented Liz Pearce, who will also take on the role of “Old Mother,” the play is a fresh staging of Charles Way’s acclaimed work, The Long Way Home.  The play is set against the picturesque backdrop of Greece. It follows the journey of a recently widowed old woman as she travels from her late husband’s inland hometown to her home of origin, beside the sea. Along the way, she rescues a boy who has been cruelly tied up and brings him up as they traverse the island, encountering a host of colourful characters and situations.

Experience this funny and moving story, as Old Mother and Dog Boy teach each other what it is to be human, on their journey through forest, farmland and mountains to their final destination.

The production will be staged in a cabaret-style setting, evoking the ambiance of a Greek taverna. Audience members will be seated at small tables, where they can enjoy drinks, bread, and olives, immersing themselves in the village atmosphere as the story unfolds around them.

Performances at 7.30pm on Friday, 4 and Saturday, 5 October at the Clarence Hall, Crickhowell.
