Treasure Island – A Swashbuckling Success
Posted: 26th January 2026This year’s pantomime, Treasure Island, was a triumph, delighting audiences of all ages with its mix of laughter, music and feel-good fun. From the opening scene, the Clarence Hall was swept into a lively world of pirates, mischief and adventure, carried along by the energy and commitment of everyone involved.
The production by Crickhowell and District Players was a showcase of local talent, with plenty of humour and lots of chances to join in. Special recognition must go to the dastardly Long John Silver and his sidekick Scallywag, along with the comedic trio Brass, Knuckles and Bones, while the goodies — Jim Hawkins, Felicity, Ma Hawkins, Martha and Squire Trelawny — brought real warmth and spirit to the adventure. There were also superb performances from Captain Corker’un, the Fairy Godmother and Polly the Parrot, each adding their own sparkle and personality along the way.
Behind the scenes, the technical and backstage teams kept everything running smoothly, with lighting, sound, costumes and scenery all helping to create the atmosphere and sense of fun.
Above all, Treasure Island was a celebration of community spirit at its best — a packed hall, big cheers and the kind of shared enjoyment that makes panto such a winter highlight in Crickhowell.
Huge congratulations to everyone involved — directors, cast, crew, musicians, dancers and volunteers — for an outstanding show!
